Wilma Jean Miller

Wilma Jean Miller, 88 of Madison, passed away Monday, April 19, 2021 at the Life Care Center in Burlington.
She was born February 14, 1933 in Wichita, Kansas the daughter of Taylor and Wilma Walker Sells. Wilma grew up in Madison and Kansas City. She attended the Kansas School For The Blind and graduated with the Class of 1952.
Wilma was married to Argell Miller in October of 1954. Their marriage spanned over twenty five years before ending in divorce in 1981.
Wilma operated a day care in Denver, Colorado for 30 years before retiring in 2000. She spent the next three years in Valley Center, Kansas before settling down in Madison in 2003. Wilma loved and cared for any animal that crossed her path. No matter the size or type of animal she possessed a knack for bonding with it.
Wilma attended the Life Church in Emporia and will be truly missed by her church family. She will live on in the hearts and memories of her sister, Lila Straw of Madison; brother, Clifford Sells of Menifee, California and numerous extended family and friends. Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Marjorie McShane and a bother-in-law, Jim Straw.
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 22, 2021 at the VanArsdale Funeral Home in Madison. Burial will follow services at Number 8 Cemetery, East of Madison.
