Virgil Edgene Wamser, 69, passed away Friday, December 5, 2014 at his home in Neosho Rapids, Kansas. He was born March 1, 1945 in Emporia, Kansas the son of Albert Virgil and Wilma Hayes Wamser. Edgene attended Emporia High School and graduated with the Class of 1964. He was joined in marriage to Donna Crawford on May 5, 1967 in Neosho Rapids, Kansas. They lived in Emporia during the early years of marriage settling down in Neosho Rapids in 1971. As a young man Edgene worked at Iowa Beef Processing in Emporia. He previously drove a truck for E.M.F. , Shears and Pepsi. Edgene retired from the Topeka Capital Journal in 2010 where he was the bulk paper delivery driver for over 20 years. Edgene was a founding member of the Neosho Rapids Lions Club. He will be forever loved by his wife, Donna of their home in Neosho Rapids; a son, Edgene (Heidi) Wamser of Hays, Kansas; two daughters, Becky (Jon) Broadhurst of Southlake, Texas and Carla (Shawn) Garrison of Glenpool, Oklahoma, a sister Lyndia Kay Deshazer of Bushong, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Easten Wamser, McKinley Wamser, Reaghan Wamser, Jayden Broadhurst, Jillian Broadhurst and Kash Garrison, KinsleyGarrison and many extended family and friends.
