Timothy Allen Carty

February 21, 1961 — March 14, 2024

Timothy Allen “Tim” Carty, 63, passed from this world to his heavenly home, in the morning hours of March 14, 2024, at his home near Waverly, KS. Tim was born in Bristol, Tennessee on February 21, 1961, the son of Gilmer Delane & Emma Tester Carty, both of whom preceded him in death.

Tim was united in marriage to Aida Carty on October 14, 2006 at the Berean Baptist Church in Wichita, KS. His dedication to Aida was evident in all moments of their life together.

Although he was often a man of few words, there was a deep wisdom when Tim spoke. There was always a purpose; Tim didn’t react to things, but instead, responded. He had a strong, personal faith and often quoted scripture, always explaining the deeper context, and meaning along with the verses. It was clear in the way he treated others that he strove to spread God’s love and grace to the world.

Tim founded and was the lead engineer of EMP Sheild in Coffey County, KS. Along with the company, Tim was a key member of InfraGard’s National Disaster Resilience Council, the San Antonio Electromagnetic Defense Initiative, the Department of Defense’s Electromagnetic Defense Task Force, and was a part of the government emergency telecommunications agency through MARS. Tim was also a subject matter expert for the NERC EMP task force and advised many members of the United States government. He was also a hobby gunsmith and held a Federal Firearms License that allowed him to work on, build, & sell specialty and custom firearms. He was also a concealed carry firearms instructor. In all the roles his professional life would put him in, Tim always had the singular goal of making the world a better place, in whatever capacity he could. This was shown in many ways, including a project to provide access to clean water in Ghana.

Tim’s love and legacy live on with his wife of almost 18 years, Aida Carty of their home in Waverly, KS; his sons, Johnathan Delane Carty, Gilmer Anthony Carty, and Christopher Allen Carty; his daughter, Alaina Carty; a brother, Gary Carty; four grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter and a host of extended family, friends, and others touched by his vibrant life.
