Theresa Ann Hurla

Theresa Ann Hurla died Tuesday, March 8, 2016, near Clinton, Ark. She was 49.

She was born Aug. 24, 1966, at Topeka, the daughter of Mary and Clemence “Sam” Gappa, the youngest of six siblings.

She grew up in Topeka, attending Topeka High School and Kaw Area Vocational Technical School.

She married Greg Hurla in 1988. They later divorced.

She loved to sing, cook, be sociable, and shared a special bond with her dog Maggie. She was a woman of many talents, and her smile will be missed by many.

She is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, William “Billy”; and a niece, Jamie.

She is survived by three sisters, Bonnie, Christy and Mary; a brother, Ronnie; two daughters, Emily and Kelly; one grandson, Preston; several nieces and many friends.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, March 12, 2016 at VanArsdale Funeral Chapel in Osage City. Burial will in Osage City Cemetery. Family will receive friends an hour before service time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to VanArsdale Funeral Chapel to help defray funeral expenses. There will be an informal gathering following the service at Sower Pub & Grub in Osage City.
