Theresa A. Cozad

Theresa A. Cozad, 89, of Osage City, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Osage Nursing Center in Osage City. Theresa was born October 31, 1925 in Emporia, Kansas, the daughter of Anthony J. and Agnes M. (Hellmer) Burenheide. She graduated from St. Joseph (Olpe) High School. She was married and divorced. Later married C.W. Cozad on July 25, 1959. Theresa had worked at Hallmark Cards and Parks Pharmacy in Osage City. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Altar Society and Harmony EHU in Osage City. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, C.W. in 1995; a son, Mike Cozad in 1984; a brother, George Burenheide; three sisters, Helen Hogan, Jeanette Soldani and Martha Jane Mitsven. Theresa is survived by her daughter, Jan (Randy) Wells of Buffalo, Missouri; three sons, Robert (Paula) Cozad of Osage City, Jim Heins of Emporia and Ken Heins of Gladstone, Missouri; two brothers, Harold (Connie) Burenheide and Clarence (Mary Gail) Burenheide, both of Emporia; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 26, 2015 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Osage City. Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. before service with family receiving friends after rosary. Burial to follow service at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Osage City. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick's Catholic Church Altar Society and sent in care of VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, 107 N. Sixth, Osage City, Kansas 66523.
