Sharon Ann “Bear” Hall, 69 passed away Friday, November 22, 2024 at Stormont Vail Health in Topeka.
She was born November 10, 1955 in Medicine Lodge, Kansas the daughter of Arthur and Laura Haile Hall. Bear grew up in Toronto and attended Eureka High School where she graduated with the Class of 1973.
Following high school, she became the first woman to ever be hired at ADM Soy Bean Plant in Fredonia. Bear took a job at Wolf Creek in the early 1980’s. She attended qualification classes for her job in the evenings while working during the day. Bear would eventually retire in 2005 as a Fire Safety Specialist.
Retirement was a welcomed chapter in her life and she made the most of it. She enjoyed taking cruises with friends as well as seasonal float trips in Oklahoma. Bear loved the outdoors, finding peace in her life while hunting deer or fishing for Crappie. She loved the companionship of her dogs and cats over the years and built a home southeast of Lebo in 1993 to enjoy being close to nature. Her interests were not limited to the out doors however, she was known as a salty card player and visited the occasional casino to hone her skills.
Bear will live on in the hearts and countless memories of her sisters, Faye Timmons of Fredonia, Kansas and Laurel Sherman of Hamilton, Kansas; brothers, Richard Hall of Chanute and Michael Hall of Toronto; numerous extended family and a community of dear friends.
