Roy Robert Sanders, 87, passed away Friday November 29, 2019 at the Chase County Care & Rehabilitation Center in Cottonwood Falls. He was born June 23, 1932 in Emporia, Kansas the son of Glenn Hunt and Agnes Neiman. Bob attended school in Emporia and lived in the Emporia area until moving to Eureka in the 1970’s. He lived briefly in Wichita before moving to Independence, Kansas in the 1980’s. He worked as a TV and Electronics Repair Technician throughout most of his life and operated his own shops in both Eureka and Independence. In 2004, Bob moved to Madison with his mother. In May 2005 Bob and his mom moved to senior housing in Cottonwood Falls until her death on January 5, 2006. She was devoted to Bob and he to her. He had been living at the Care Center since January of this year. This past April, Bob became acquainted with a cousin on his biological father’s side, Calvin McBride and his wife Sharon. He had longed to meet them and greatly enjoyed their visit. Bob was an only child and will live on in the hearts and memories of his numerous cousins, extended family and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents ; cousins, Pearl & Tracy Neiman and Ronnie Brewer Sr. Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at the VanArsdale Funeral Home in Madison. Burial will follow in the Quincy Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hand In Hand Hospice and sent in care of the VanArsdale Funeral Home at P.O. Box #488, Madison, Kansas 66860.
