Ronald Dwain Presley, 70, of Madison passed away Friday, August 30, 2019 at a Wichita hospital. He was born June 26, 1949 in Rickman, Tennessee the son of A.P. and Beulah Copeland Presley. He moved with his family to Northeast Kansas when he was fourteen years old. Ron developed a strong lifelong work ethic as a young man. At the age of 16 he went out on his own and took a job at a local apple orchard and later at a local cheese factory. In May of 1970 he married Glenda Eccles. They were the parents of two daughters, Pam and Amy. Ronald and Glenda were later divorced. Ron worked throughout Greenwood, Coffey and Woodson Counties for several years as a pumper for Cheever Well Service and French & Wintersheid. He later worked in the carcass cooler at I.B.P. in Emporia retiring shortly after the company changed to Tyson Foods. Ron loved the outdoors and spent the majority of his free time hunting and fishing. When he wasn’t outdoors he loved to watch any and all sports and shared this love with many of his family members. Ronald will live on in the hearts and memories of his wife, Donna of their home in Madison; his daughter, Pam Wells and her husband Jim of Lyndon; a step son, Jesse Kindsvater of Larned, Kansas; a sister, Betty Reeves of New Strawn; two brothers, Jim Presley of Warrensburg, Missouri and Joe Presley of Gridley; thirteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Annie Maltby Kindsvater of Madison and Brandie Kindsvater of Wichita; numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved dogs, Gizmo and Preston. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Amy Presley; a stepson, Matt Kindsvater and two brothers, Charles and Kenneth Presley. The family will receive friends Friday evening September 6, 2019 from 6:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. at the VanArsdale Funeral Home in Madison. Cremation will follow and inurnment will be in Number 8 Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions my be made to the American Heart Association and sent in care of the funeral home.
