Ronald F. Chambers, 80, of Burlington, KS, went home to be with his heavenly father on October 18, 2024 at the Life Care Center of Burlington.
Ron was born on February 14, 1944 in Garnett, KS to parents Fred Dwight and Doris (Cheever) Chambers. He graduated from Iola High School in 1962 and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Navy for 7 years.
During his career, he was the supervisor for groundskeeping at the City of Gatesville, TX, where he put in many years of service before his retirement. Outside of work, he enjoyed woodworking, making various pieces over the years, including an urn for his late son-in-law. He was united in marriage to Joyce Cheever in December of 2007. Ron was a man of deep faith and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Burlington, KS.
Ron leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Joyce Chambers of Burlington, KS; daughters, Teresa Joy and Tammy Ortega; sons, William Chambers and James Chambers; step-daughter, Brenda Muha; step-son, David McGill; and 15 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred & Doris Chambers; sister, Ruth; and brothers, Donald & John.
Cremation is planned. Ron’s remains will be placed in Number 8 Cemetery, east of Madison, KS. Arrangements made through VanArsdale Funeral Home, Madison, KS. Condolences may be expressed at www.vanarsdalefs.com.
