Rodney Duane Watson

Rodney Duane Watson, 67, passed away Monday, June 1, 2015 at his home near Emporia. He was born August 18, 1947 at Newman Hospital in Emporia the son of Myron W. Sr. and Frances M. Service Watson. Duane attended Gridley High School and graduated with the Class of 1965. He went on to Flint Hills Vo. Tech and received a degree as a machinist. He worked at Diddie-Glazer for five years. Duane went on to spent over 30 years at Vek-Tek, retiring in 2001. He was joined in marriage to Karen Young on May 1, 1966 in Gridley, Kansas. Duane will forever be in the hearts of his wife, Karen of their home; daughters, Micki Watson and Cindy Watson of Emporia; brother, Myron W. Watson, Jr. of Emporia; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Cremation is planned with graveside services being held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 5, 2015 at Lincoln Cemetery in Lebo. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and sent in care of the Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home at Box #43, Lebo, Kansas 66856.
