Robert Glenn Roller, born on July 18, 1951, in Kansas, passed away peacefully at his home in Hartford, Kansas, on January 21, 2025, at the age of 73. Robert led a life filled with hard work, dedication, and the love of family and friends.
For years, Robert was an integral part of the Cargill Flour Mill in Topeka, where he contributed significantly amid a supportive work environment. Prior to this role, he worked diligently as a farm hand for Evans Livestock & Feed for eight years. His career also included a position at Kan-build before he took on custodial roles at Life Care and the Coffey County Hospital in Burlington. After 15 years of dedicated service in these roles, Robert retired due to health concerns, leaving behind a legacy of commitment and reliability.
In his personal life, Robert experienced both love and loss. He was married to Jane Marshall on April 23, 1987; their partnership would later shift to friendship following their divorce in 2002. He found love again when he married Cindy Chesler on July 18, 2003. His marriage to Cindy brought him joy, but it was marked by sadness as she preceded him in death on September 25, 2020.
Robert's family was of utmost importance to him. He is survived by his former spouse and companion/caregiver, Jane Jensen; his daughters, Ramona Wade of Osage City, Kansas, and Misty Harvey of Emporia; as well as his sons, James Wade of Greensboro, North Carolina, and Larry Kemmerer of Neosho Rapids. He shared a special bond with his sisters, Kay Trout of Overbrook, Kansas, and Nellie Miles of Topeka. Robert was a proud grandfather to Kathleen Smith, Jacob Wade, Jayden Kemmerer, Justice Kemmerer, and Shailee Herrera, and he cherished his role as a great-grandfather to six great-grandchildren. In addition to his immediate family, he leaves behind numerous extended family members and a community of friends who will miss him dearly.
Robert's journey was not without its hardships, as he was preceded in death by his wife, Cindy, his parents, his infant brother, Johnny and two sisters, Juanita Davenport and Donna Arthur.
