Richard H. Wagner, 84, of Emporia, passed away Sunday August 13,2016 at Newman Regional Health.
He was born October 29, 1931 in Halfway, Maryland the son of Richard Clayton and Alice Viola Rutherford Wagner.
Richard spent the early years of his life in and around Halfway before entering the United States Air Force. He would proudly serve for the next twenty years before retiring as a Staff Sergeant on July 31, 1969.
Richard worked at the Plant Kingdom Garden Center and Walmart, both of Emporia. A few of his favorite pass times included fishing, hunting and gardening.
He was forever joined in marriage to Lucy M. Storrer on December 29, 1956.
Richard will live on in the hearts of his wife of 59 years, Lucy, of their home; a daughter, Elizabeth Johnson and her husband Robert of Wichita; a brother, Don Wagner of Hagerstown, Maryland and two grandchildren, Spencer Wagner of Seabring, Florida and Rebecca Johnson of Flagstaff, Arizona. He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Wagner in 2005; a grandson, Dylan Wagner and a brother, Robert William Wagner.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 19, 2016 at the Lena Valley cemetery near Lamont.
