Rettie Rose Doan ,76, of Lyndon, Kansas passed away peacefully March 17, 2023 with family by her side. She was born February 1, 1947 in Kansas City, Kansas to Fred and Rettie (Smith) DeVosha
Rettie met the love of her life Richard in 1964, they were united in marriage on May 10, 1965. Shortly after, they settled down and had their first child Rettie Doan (Green), a year later they welcomed their second child Richard (Bugsy) Doan Jr.. They moved to Indiana where they welcomed their third and fourth child Edith Doan, and Candy Doan. They would go on to move back to Eastern Kansas, where she was a Homemaker. In 1991 they adopted their grandson David Doan, They would later adopt another grandchild in 2009, their granddaughter Angela Zook (Short).
Rettie was a spicy little lady that loved sharing laughs and spending time with family, She also enjoyed gardening and fashion.
Rettie is survived by her husband of nearly 58 years, Richard Doan Sr. of the home; Brothers George DeVosha (Sue) of Kansas City, and Richard DeVosha of Kansas City; Children Rettie Green (Rick) of Belleville, Richard Doan Jr. of Emporia, Edith Doan (Perry) of Lyndon, Candy Doan of Ottawa; Grandchildren Mickey Bittner, Toby Bittner, Billy Gilliland, Brittney Doan (Zack), Ashley Green, Mandy Green, Timothy Green, Natasha Smith (David), Joanna Doan, Billy Doan, Phillip Short (Jessica), Angela Zook (George), Levi Short, Kayla Jameson (Bret), David Doan; and 26 great grandchildren that she adored.
Rettie is preceded in death by her parents Fred and Rettie (Smith) DeVosha ; Brothers Gerald DeVosha, James DeVosha and a Sister Penny Culey.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at the VanArsdale Funeral Chapel in Osage City. Burial will follow at Lyndon Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from noon until 2:00 P.M. at the funeral chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rettie Rose Doan Memorial Fund and sent in care of thee VanArsdale Funeral Chapel at 107 N. 6th Street, Osage City, Kansas 66523.
