Ramon Leon, 68, passed away in the early evening hours on December 11, 2024 at his home in Emporia in the care of his loving family.
He was born in Cuba on September 13, 1956 the son of Hipolito Leon De La Peña and Migdalia Enid Chacon Romero. As a young man he was trained as a electronics engineer and mechanic.
In 1989 he made a courageous journey to the United States and began his new life in Miami. Ramon spent time between Miami and the Midwest. While in Miami he worked for the Wholesome Bread Company and moved to Emporia, Kansas in 2000 where he drove for Dolly Madison.
Ramon will live on in the hearts and many memories of his daughters, Maria Caridad Leon Alcantara, Anisleidys Leon Castañeda and Maggie Alina Santos; his son, Jeison Leon Gomez; sisters, Dolores Fleitas, Nidia Nellive Leon Chacon and Raysa Imilsy Leon Chacon; brothers, Alberto Enrique Leon Chacon and Oscar DeLa Caridad Leon Chacon; grandchildren, Jason Leon Veliz, Gabriela Fernandez Leon, Edison Riberon Leon, Roxana Hernandez Leon and Scarlet Alina Santos; many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jose Marcos Leon Chacon.
