PHYLLIS R. "PENNY" BLECHA

OSAGE CITY- Phyllis R. "Penny" Blecha, 73, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Stormont Vail Healthcare in Topeka.

Phyllis R. Hedrick was born August 23, 1942 in Edna, Kansas, the daughter of Jay and Pauline (Dyke) Hedrick.

She was joined in marriage to Kenneth Ray Blecha on September 6, 1962 in Cape Cod, Massachusetts.

Penny had worked as a CNA and had worked at Peterson's Nursing Home until retiring.

She will be remembered by her daughter, Vonna Rae (Loren) Kraus of Salina; two sons, Timothy (Jennifer) Blecha of Fredrickburg, Viriginia and Troy A. Blecha of Osage City; a sister, Beverly Hedrick of Ft. Collins, Oklahoma; a brother, Jay Hedrick of El Dorado, KS and three grandchildren.

Penny was preceded by her husband, Kenneth on August 10, 2008; her parents and a grandson, Joshua Harris.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the VanArsdale Funeral Chapel in Osage City. Burial will follow service at Osage City Cemetery. Family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Phyllis "Penny" Blecha Memorial Fund to be designated at late date and sent in care of VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, 107 N. Sixth, Osage City, KS 66523.
