Perry Arthur Criqui, 73, of Lebo, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at the Newman Regional Hospital in Emporia. He was born November 16, 1941 in Melvern, Kansas the son of Clarence Fred and Maggie Mae Greenfield Criqui. Perry spent the younger years of his life in the Olivet area. As a young man he worked at several construction projects throughout eastern Kansas which included, additions to Newman Hospital and the Kansas State Teachers College as well as the missile base near old Beto Junction. Perry was joined in marriage to Michaeline Vasquez on August 27, 1961 at the Church of God in Melvern, Kansas. Following their marriage the young couple lived in Melvern and later Kansas City, Kansas while Perry worked at the American Superior Rubber Plant. In 1976 they moved to Lebo and Perry began working at I.B.P. in Emporia. He retired in 2006 with thirty years of service. Perry will remain in the hearts of his wife, Michaeline of their home; a daughter, Rebecca Y. Criqui of Lebo; sons, Terry and Arthur Criqui of Lebo; two sisters, Dora Ann Flowers and Darlene Horst; a brother, Glen Criqui of Emporia; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and close friends. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Perry Michael Criqui. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 13, 2015 at the Lebo United Methodist Church. Burial will follow services at Melvern Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday evening at the Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home in Lebo.
