Paul L. Trueblood

Paul L. Trueblood, 71, passed away Saturday, September 13, 2014 at his home in Barclay. He was born February 7, 1943 in Emporia, Kansas the son of Claude and Ellen Marconett Trueblood. Paul attended Osage City High School where he was very active in the FFA program. He went on to graduate with the Class of 1961. Paul served in the Army reserve for six years following high school. Paul spent his entire life in Barclay working as a rancher and running a Cattle Fitting Service. He showed Polled Hereford cattle and later bred Salers cattle. He received the herdsman of the year award from both the American Polled Hereford association and the American Salers Association. He retired in 2009. His memberships also included the American Quarter Horse Association. Paul married Dorothy Kramer in 1963. They were later divorced. He married Virginia Mercer in 1971 and they later divorced. He married Janice Washburn and she preceded him in death on February 8, 1998. He married Patti Egan on August 2, 2012 after being together since 1999. He will be forever missed by his wife Patti of their home; a son, Matthew Grizzell of Aurora, Ill.; a brother, Bill Trueblood of Barclay; a niece, Crystal Sixbury; two nephews, Scott and Brent Trueblood; six grandchildren, Keaton, Haley, Cole, Cameron, Austin and Bryant.
