Norma Ann Pock, 91, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday April 20, 2022 at Stormont-Vail.
Norma was born and raised in Olivet, Kansas the daughter of Charlie A. and Jennie L. Moore Pock. She attended Olivet High School and graduated with the Class of 1949.
She married Raymond Johnson and they moved to Topeka where she worked as a clerk for Southwestern Bell. Norma and Raymond would later divorce. In the early 1960’s she moved back to Olivet to be near her family. While back in Olivet she met Orville Tyson. They would marry in 1963 and move to Waverly. Norma and Orville were later divorced.
Norma returned to Olivet where she lived for the next four years before taking a position with K-Mart and moving to Topeka. Following the closure of the Topeka store, she transferred to Shawnee Mission and finished out her career with K-Mart. After her retirement in the late 1990’s, Norma returned to Topeka where she remained until her passing.
Norma will live on in the hearts and memories of her daughter, Shirley Brading and her husband Rick of Topeka; a sister, Wilma Jean Harris of Topeka; a brother, Jack D. Pock of Four Oaks, North Carolina; grandchildren, Jessica Brading, Mallory Penry and Autumn Froese; great-grandchildren; Ellianna, D’Andre, A.J., Brandon and one to be announced soon; numerous extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Charles D. Pock.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, April 25. 2022 at Alpine Cemetery near Olivet.. Memorial contributions may be made to the Topeka Rescue Mission and sent in care of the VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, 107 N. 6th Street, Osage City, Kansas 66523.
