Myrtle Katheren “Kathy” Record, 64, passed away Monday, June 24, 2019 at her home near Eskridge. She was born January 21, 1955 in St. Joseph, Missouri the daughter of Dayton and Jennie Wilfong Lawson. Kathy attended Nodoway High School in Graham, Missouri and graduated with the Class of 1973. Following high school she worked at Lenscrafters and later for Dr. Kevin Lenahan in Garnett. She later worked as a Medical Technician with Cotton-O’Neil in Topeka for many years. Kathy followed her passion of becoming a nurse by attending Flint Hills Technical College earning a L.P.N. Degree in 2013. Shortly following her graduation she was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. She was working at the Alma Manor until her health would no longer allow. She was joined in marriage to Lawrence N. Record Sr., on August 9, 1990. Kathy will live on in the hearts of her husband Lawrence of Eskridge, daughters, Samantha Winkler of Alma, Sherry Katheren of Plant City, Florida and Lauren Record of Kansas City, Missouri; sons, Bryan Stuart of Louisville, Texas, Scott Stuart of Eskridge, Marcus Walton of Cheney, Raymon Record of Eskridge, Jonathan Walton of Eskridge and Lawrence “L.J.” Record Jr. of Eskridge; sisters Jennie Stellman of Emporia, Sandra Kwan of Hiawatha and Karen Shepard of Graham, Missouri; fifteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Wade and brothers, Bob, Bill and Don Lawson.
