Melvin L. Croucher, 92, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Clarehouse Hospice in Tulsa, Oklahoma
Melvin Leroy Croucher was born March 28, 1927 in Osage City, the son of Fred and Mabel (Plackett) Croucher. He graduated from Osage City High School. After high school, he proudly served with United State Navy.
He was joined in marriage to Pauline Savaiano on May 26, 1951 in Osage City. She preceded him in death on December 5, 2011. To this union, three children were raised, Nancy, Donna and Steve.
Mel owned and operated a filling station in Osage City for many years and later worked at Hallmark Cards.
He is survived by his two daughters, Nancy (Mike) Weddle of Jefferson City, Missouri and Donna Bridenstine of Tulsa, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Mel was also preceded in death by his parents, a son, Steve Croucher and a brother, Glenn Croucher.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 7, 2019 at the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Osage City. Family will receive friends Friday, evening from 4:30 to 6:30 at VanArsdale Funeral Chapel in Osage City. Burial will take place in Osage City Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to American Legion Post 198 and may be sent to VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, 107 N. Sixth, Osage City, KS 66523. Condolences may be expressed at Vanarsdalefs.com.
