Marshall Clyde Stauffer

August 19, 1951 — February 2, 2021

Marshall Clyde Stauffer, 69, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at his home north east of Hamilton.
He was born August 19, 1951 in Emporia, Kansas the son of Elver and Viola Boucher Stauffer. He attended Hamilton High School and graduated with the Class of 1969. Marshall attended classes at the Flint Hills Vo Tech while still in high school. Marshall was active in 4-H as a youth and later past on that enthusiasm to his daughter Shana.
Marshall enlisted in the United States Air Force on October 31, 1970 and proudly served until receiving an honorable discharge on August 12, 1971. He met the love of his life while showing short horns at the Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson. He was joined in marriage to Trudy Boswell on September 26, 1971 at the Baptist Church in Kingman, Kansas. They began their lives together in Hutchinson, Kansas where Marshall served as the administrator at Broad Acers Nursing Home and the Reno County Adult Care facility. He later worked at a Salina Nursing Facility before buying their farm in 1980.
Marshall and Trudy raised Registered Short Horn cattle as well as sheep on their farm. He became involved in the local community and served on the Hamilton School Board for 12 years. Marshall had also served as President of The Eureka Farm Bureau. His other memberships included the FSA Board and the local Lions Club. Marshall has served as the Rural Mail Carrier for Hamilton since 1993.
Marshall will live on in the hearts and memories of his dear wife, Trudy of their home; a daughter, Shana M. Starr of Kansas City, Kansas; two grandchildren, one great-grandchild; numerous extended family and a host of dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ralph Stauffer and Ralph’s wife Jan.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at the VanArsdale Funeral Home in Madison. Burial will follow services at Janesville Cemetery in Hamilton. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project or the organization of the donor’s choice and sent in care of the funeral home at P.O.
