Marjorie Ann “Margann” Renfro, 65 passed away October 16, 2024 at Stormont-Vail in Topeka.
She was born July 9, 1959 in Arkansas City, Kansas the daughter of Calvin and Marjorie Lyman Renfro. Her family moved to Emporia when she was young and she spent most of her life in the Emporia area.
Marjorie had worked at numerous places throughout the Emporia area including, Casey’s General Store in Americus. She had been a part of the QSI clean up shift at I.B.P. for a while and had also worked at Midwest Printing.
Marjorie had a green thumb and enjoyed tending to plants and flowers. Her other interests included fishing, watching crime shows, doing crossword and search puzzles, board games of all types and playing UNO & solitaire. Most of all she loved coffee.
Marjorie will live on in the hearts and memories of her daughters, Tabitha Verlin of Oklahoma, Lorilei Renfro of Osage City and Olivia Castillo of Osage City; sons, Jason Renfro of Osage City and Julian Castillo of Emporia; sisters, Cheryl Ann Chalfant of Auburn, Washington and Cynthia Kearns of Americus; brothers, William C. Renfro, Sr. of Emporia and LeRoy Renfro of Reading; thirteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Velva Valdez and Eloise Harris; brothers, Calvin C. Renfro, Jr., Carl W. Renfro, Robert D. Renfro and Terry E. Renfro.
Services are planned for 2:00 P.M., Friday, October 25, 2024 at the Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home & Crematory in Lebo. Burial will follow services at Key West Cemetery, East of Lebo. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Marjorie Ann Renfro Memorial and sent in care of the funeral home.
