Lois E. Park, 89, of Osage City, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Brookside Retirement Community in Overbrook, Kansas.

Lois Elizabeth Edwards was born July 4, 1935, in Junction City, Kansas, the daughter of Karl D. and Helen (Norman) Edwards. She was a graduate of Liberty Memorial High School in Lawrence and was the valedictorian of the class of 1953. She graduated from the University of Kansas in 1956 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education.

She was joined in marriage to Albert Lawrence Park, Jr. on June 12, 1956, in Lawrence, Kansas. To this union, two children were born, Susan and Sarah.

Lois and Al owned and operated Park Pharmacy in Osage City for 31 years. After retirement, she and Al traveled to many countries visiting many museums along the way. They loved taking photos of their adventures. They also visited most, if not all, of the United States in their travels.

She loved puzzles and spent many hours playing solitaire, sudoku and cryptogram. She was a huge fan of KU sports, especially basketball.

She was an active member of the United Methodist Church, Sorosis Club and a 61-year member of P.E.O. Sisterhood. She was also a lifelong member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She drove for Meals on Wheels until last fall. She was very generous and active in many organizations in Osage City.

Lois will be forever remembered by her daughters, Susan (Larry) Patton of Lawrence, KS and Sarah (Bill) Granger of Topeka, KS, grandchildren John (Sara Stites) of Topeka and Rosalie Granger of Topeka and great grandsons Ira and Ezra Granger of Topeka and her sister Nancy Edwards of Salt Lake City, Utah, Sister-in-Law, Patricia Park of Baton Rouge, LA nieces Eveyln (Tom) Blalock of Baton Rouge, LA and Barbara Bunting of Salsbury, NC and nephews Allen (Beth) Park of Hudson, OH and Brandon (Angette) Howard of Fruit Heights, UT, several cousins and many friends

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Al Park on December 4, 2020, and many dear friends and family.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the United Methodist Church in Osage City. Family will receive friends an hour before service at the church. Burial to follow at the Osage City Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Osage City United Methodist Church or Chapter IQ P.E.O. Scholarship Fund and sent in care of VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, 107 N. Sixth, Osage City, KS 66523. Condolences may be expressed at Vanarsdalefs.com.
