Leota M. Ormsby

LEOTA M. ORMSBY OSAGE CITY- Leota M. Ormsby, 87, of Osage City, passed away Friday, June 5, 2015 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka. Leota was born December 19, 1927 in Lebo, the daughter of Arthur L. and Tillie (Dawson) Gavin. She graduated from Lebo High School. She was joined in marriage to Alvin C. Ormsby on September 7, 1945 in Emporia. She was a homemaker for Alvin and her nine children. Leota is survived by four daughters; Donna Miller (Norm Rieger) of Lebo, Joan Staus of Ottawa, Nancy (Ron) Peters of Lebo, Lois (John) Gutierrez of Dumas, Texas; three sons, Jerry (Kathy) Ormsby and Danny Ormsby, both of Osage City and Billie (Shirley) Ormsby of Olivet; twenty-five grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Alvin; a daughter, Betty Boyce; a son, Jimmie Ormsby; three grandchildren, Lowell Boyce, Danny Padgett and Elizabeth McGrahann.
