OSAGE CITY- Leonard A."Buck" Laney, 80, of Moline, Kansas, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Kansas Medical Center in Andover, Kansas. Leonard Alfred "Buck" Laney was born November 22, 1934 in El Dorado, Kansas, the son of Ira Oscar and Marion Edith Laney. He married Juanita Jean Quetermous on March 2, 1959 in Shawneetown, Illinois. They moved to Osage City in 1969. Leonard moved to Moline, Kansas after Juanita's death on February 3, 2010. Leonard had worked many years as a work equipment maintainer for Santa Fe Railroad and Peabody Coal Company. He is survived by a son, Todd (Kristi) Laney of Moline, Kansas; a daughter, Lori Laney of Emporia; three brothers, Ira Gene Laney of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Larry Laney of Wyoming and Terry Laney of Las Animas, Colorado, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Leonard was also preceded in death by a son, David Dean Laney in 2006 and a infant sister. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday February 7, 2015 at the VanArsdale Funeral Chapel in Osage City.
