Leona R. Parre, 84, formerly of Osage City, passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Aldersgate Village in Topeka.
Leona R. Linsey was born on September 23, 1934 in Reading, Kansas, the son of Henry and Minnie (Weimer) Linsey. She graduated from Reading High School in 1952.
She was joined in marriage to David L. Parre on June 27, 1958 in Osage City. To this union to sons were born, Daniel and Michael.
Leona worked at Hallmark for 30 years. She was a former member of American Legion Auxillary in Osage City. She liked KU, Chiefs, Royals and loved to play cards.
She will be forevered remembered by her two sons, Daniel (Trish) Parre of Topeka and Michael (Becky) Parre of California; a brother, Dean Linsey of Osage City; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Leona was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David; a sister, Henrietta Henderson and a brother, George Linsey.
A Celebration of Life service will held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 27, 2018 at VanArsdale Funeral Chapel in Osage City. Private inurnment will follow service at Osage City Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society and sent in care of VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, 107 N. Sixth, Osage City, KS 66523. Condolences may be expressed at vanarsdalefs.com.
