Larry J. Mayer

EMPORIA- Larry J. Mayer, 75, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at Stormont Vail Healthcare in Topeka. Larry John Mayer was born September 17, 1939 in Marysville, Kansas, the son of Cecil Vernon and Fern Emma (Priefert) Mayer. He had served the United States Navy from January 10, 1957 to September 15, 1960. He was joined in marriage to Doxie Ann Peres on July 1, 1967 in Emporia, Kansas. He had worked for Bluestem Elevator until he was disabled. Larry will be remembered by his wife, Doxie of the home; two daughters, Connie Mayer of Sioux City, Iowa, Lori (Jamie) Moore of Lebo; two sons, Steve (Pat) Jacob of Emporia, John Jacob of Salina; a sister, Susan Waymire of Aurora, Colorado; brother, Leon Mayer of Spokane, Washington; four grandchildren, Lacey (Boone) Cumberland of Salina, Kassidy Jacob of Salina, Avery Moore and Alli Moore, both of Lebo; an honorary grandson, Gavin Coble; two great-grandchildren, Eastyn and Westyn Cumberland of Salina.
