Larry Dean Ward, 77, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at his home in Barclay.
Larry was born June 17, 1942 in Junction City, Kansas, the son to Roy Leon and Helen Mae (Hunt) Ward.
He was joined in marriage to Catherine Jaap on November 11, 1977 at Cupid Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
He first owned and operated Midwest Carpet Cleaners for many years in Topeka. Larry and Cathy moved to Barclay in 1990. Together they owned and operated The Bargain Hut in Osage City for 12 years. When they first moved to Barclay, he worked for Warren Dean Perry farm and Holthaus Motors.
He enjoyed racing Go-Carts and got very involved in racing. He loved playing guitar with Cathy on mandolin.
Larry will be forever remembered by his wife, Catherine of the home; two daughters, Annette Cooper of Palm Coast, Florida and Suzette Lockett of Palm Coast, Florida; two sons, Christopher Ward of Manhattan, Kansas and John Elmore of Salina, Kansas; two sisters, Pamela (Robert) Been of Topeka and Penny (Doug) Hagler of Little Elm, Texas; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.
He was preceded by parents.
The service and visitation for Mr. Ward has been postponed due to CDC recommendations for no service and gathering for a week.
