Kimberly Michaela Haunani Shepherd

Kimberly Michaela Haunani Shepherd, 51, lost her battle to cancer on Friday, May 26, 2017 in Emporia.

Kim was born on September 22, 1965 in Millington, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Michael Czajkowski of Harrison, Arkansas and Victoria M. Vaughn of Emporia.

She is survived by her mother, Vickie of Emporia; a son, Joshua Channing of Columbia, Missouri; two daughters, Logan Shepherd and Ryan Shepherd of Emporia; a sister Dawn Martinez of Illinois and two grandsons, Caiden and Bentley of Emporia.

Friends and family remember Kim for her quick smile and willingness to help. A conscientious work ethic was her trademark. Strongly devoted to her two grandsons. Kim's passing marks a giant change in her family and is deelpy felt.

Cremation is planned. No formal service is planned. Kim's ashes will be used in the planting of an oak tree in whose branches squirrels will cavort and birds will nest.
