Kenneth S. Smith, 89 of Excelsior Springs died August 31, 2014 at home. He was born in Albany, MO on May 17, 1925, the son of Orval F. and Lina M. Smith. He graduated from Albany High School and Chillicothe Business College. He married Betty J. Keeney in 1951. (Divorced) She preceded him in death in 2003. He married Awilda G. Gifford in 1964. She preceded him in death in 1994. He married Vera O. Dannaldson Snider in 1998. She preceded him in death in 2012. He worked various jobs including superintendent of waste water management at Whiteman Air Force base in Knob Noster, MO. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II on Coast Guard patrol boats. He was active in various churches and did mission work in Mexico. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #272 of Sedalia, MO, Gideons International, Eastern Star #57 of Sedalia, MO, Disabled American Veterans, and Alcoholics Anonymous, in which he earned his 50 year pin. He was preceded in death by his parents Orval and Lina Smith; a brother, Carl O. Smith; three sisters, Helen Fulton, Florence Smith, Virginia Warren; a son Shelby P. Smith, two step-sons, Bill Gifford and Terry Dannaldson; and four step-grandchildren, Teresa Barnes, Dennis M. Gifford, L. Eric Pierson and Wendy Fitzgerl-Blue. Survivors include a sister, Louisa McFee; two daughters, Linda Gail Smith and Vivian Taylor; three step daughters, Judy McCullough, Barbara Barbro, and Renee Foster; two step-sons, Dan Dannaldson and Brian Dannaldson; their spouses and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews
