Keith L. Smulling, 84, formerly of Osage City and Miller, passed away Friday, June 2, 2017 at his residence in Emporia.
Keith Long Smulling was born April 30, 1933, southwest of Miller, Kansas, the son of Wilbur Byron and Anna Mabel (Long) Smulling. He graduated Miller High School in 1951.
He was joined in marriage to Patricia "Patsy" J. Guy on February 14, 1954. Where the couple had traveled all 50 states together.
Keith worked in water and gas maintenance for the City of Osage for many years. He also loved raising cattle. He was a faithful Kansas basketball fan to all the area teams and most importantly the Kansas Jayhawks.
He will forever be remembered by his sisters, Doris Gerstner of Emporia and Donna Tucker of Bonner Springs; seven nephews, five nieces. He will also be remembered by his long list of friends for his kindness and his loving smile.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patsy; brother, Wilbur Byron Smulling, Jr. and two sisters, Dorothy Sullivan and Darlene Sutherland.
The memorial service will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the Miller Methodist Church in Miller, KS. Inurnment will take place in Ivy Cemetery near Admire. Memorial contributions may be made to the Miller Methodist Church and sent in care of VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, 107 N. Sixth, Osage City, KS 66523. Condolences may be expressed at vanarsdalefs.com.
