Julia Kay Downs, 58, passed away Monday, April 9, 2018 at her home near Reading.She was born November 3, 1959 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Emporia, Kansas the daughter of Glenn E. and Stephanie A Brezowski Craft. Julie attended Lebo High School and graduated with the Class of 1977. Following high school, she attended Emporia State University for a year before attending Rogers State University in Claremore, Oklahoma where she studied ranch management. Julie worked at Hallmark for three years before beginning a career with the United States Postal Service in 1986. She served a total of 28 years with 16 years as clerk and city carrier in Osage City and twelve years as the Hartford Post Master. Julie received early retirement in 2014. Julia was joined in marriage to Greg Downs on July 17, 1992 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. She will live on in the hearts of her devoted husband Greg, of their home; brothers, Richard Craft and his wife Elaine of Sedan, Kansas, Glenn Craft and his wife Lisa of California and John Craft of Lawrence; numerous extended family and countless dear friends. Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, April 13, 2018 at the Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home in Lebo. Burial will follow at Arvonia Cemetery.
