Joseph William Leiser, 48, of Madison passed away Saturday October 13, 2018. Bill was born June 24, 1970 in Burlington, Kansas the son of Joseph Richard and Phyllis Jean Yager Leiser. He attended Madison High School and graduated with the Class of 1989. Bill would further his education by attending Vocational Training as a diesel mechanic in Beloit. He began working at Precision Truck and Diesel in Emporia while still taking classes and continued working there for five years. Bill then moved to Illinois and began working for Caterpillar. He was later employed by A-Lert Construction where he became a Millwright foreman. His work took him throughout the Midwest and eastern seaboard states before returning to Madison in 1996 when began working at L.L. Construction. In the later 1990’s he returned to work as a traveling Millwright for several years. He came home to Madison in the summer of 2018 and worked with his brother, Lloyd at Leiser Construction. Bill enjoyed the outdoors and many of it’s available bounties such as gardening, fishing and swimming in nearby quarries. Bill will live on in the hearts of his daughters, Lindsey Leiser and Sadie Leiser of Burlington; a son Jake Leiser of Burlington; a sister Patty Thomsen of Lamont; brothers, Tim Leiser of Hartford and Lloyd Matt Leiser of Madison; numerous extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Phyllis. Cremation is planned with memorial services being held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the Lamont Wesleyan Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jake Leiser Education Fund and sent in care of the VanArsdale Funeral Home at P.O. Box #488, Madison, Kansas 66860.
