JAMES C. GILBREATH
EUREKA- James C. "Jim" Gilbreath, 80, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2016 at his residence in Eureka.
James Clark Gilbreath was born November 14, 1936 in Emporia, Kansas, the son of Lorenzo Dow "LD" and Urzula "Zula" Rose (Coffman) Gilbreath. He was raised in Madison and graduated from Madison High School in 1955.
Jim was a cattleman and rancher from a young age. He later became a cattle order buyer. In 1999 he moved back to Kansas due to health reasons.
Jim was united in marriage to Farrell Chadd on November 18, 1956.Three children were born to this marriage. He was later united in marriage to Juanita Reynolds. This marriage ended in divorce.
His two daughters, Rita Osborn of Madison and Nita Barnard of Stratford, Texas; a son, Mike Gilbreath of Emporia, KS; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren will forever remember him.
Jim's parents preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at VanArsdale Funeral Home in Madison. Family will be receiving friends Monday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Greenwood County Hospital and sent in care of VanArsdale Funeral Home, P.O. 488, Madison, KS 66860. Condolences may be expressed at vanarsdalefs.com.
