Harriet Arlene Oldweiler, 79, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2016 at the home of her son near Neodesha, Kansas.
Harriet was born on January 11, 1937 in Brown County, Kansas the daughter of Lynn Thomas Emil and Irma Hall Jones Meyer.
She attended Robinson High School and graduated with the Class of 1955. She went on to attend business college in Topeka.
Harriet went to work as a secretary at Henry Manufacturing in Topeka where she met the love of her life, William “Bill” Oldweiler. Harriet and Bill moved to Emporia in 1962. They settled on the family farm north of Neosho Rapids in 1964 where she remained until her death.
Harriet was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church in Neosho Rapids where she served as organist for many years. She was very active in the Neosho Rapids community volunteering with the girl and boy scouts and the community food pantry.
