Harlan Joe Combes

Harlan Joe Combes, 77, passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas.

He was born June 24, 1944 in Lebo, Kansas, the son of Wayne and Marjorie (Rich) Combes. He graduated from Olivet High School in 1963. Joe served in the United States Army. He received a degree in Electrical from the Flint Hills Technical College in Emporia.

Joe was joined in marriage to Lorna Nadine Smith on July 2, 1983 in Emporia, Kansas. Joe was an electrician for Local Union IBEW #111.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Elmer.

Survivors includes his wife, Lorna of the home; three daughters, Randa Folson of Osawatomie, Kansas, Karla Musick of Mt. Vernon, Ohio and Shaunna Bernard of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; five sons, Tary Combes of Fredrickstown, Ohio, David Carroll of Jetmore, Kansas, Brian Carroll of Franklin, Nebraska, Kevin Carroll of Dodge City, Kansas and Reid Carroll of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; a sister, Anita Pase and a brother, Daniel Combes, both of Alabama; twenty-eight grandchildren and thirty-six great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home in Lebo, Kansas. Visitation will be an hour before service.
