Glenda Jean Eubank, 79, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at her home in Hartford, Kansas.

She was born on June 9, 1945 in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of John L. and Dorothy Mae Kneisly Haas. Glenda spent the early years of her life with her family living southeast of Gridley.

Glenda attended Yates Center High School where she graduated with the Class of 1963. She went on to attend classes at Pittsburg State University focusing her studies in clerical classes.

She learned the value of hard work early on. This core value would become a steadfast part of her life for many years. Glenda worked several years at Country Critters in Burlington, Kansas. She later served as a driver’s license examiner in Topeka and Lawrence. She worked with the Kansas Department of Revenue prior to taking a position at DST Output in Kansas City. In 2012, Glenda retired and moved to Hartford, Kansas.

Glenda was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Hartford where she was an essential part of the Community Food Pantry. Her volunteering service also included participation in the longstanding tradition of Penny Suppers at the church. Glenda held a love for all animals, but had a special place in her heart for Bassett Hounds. She worked hand in hand with the Bassett Hound Rescue in Kansas City. Often turning a fostering opportunity into a forever home for a sheltered dog.

One of Glenda’s favorite things to do was spending time with her grandchildren. She loved attending their Livestock Shows, baseball and basketball outings.

Glenda will live on in the hearts and cherished memories of her daughter, Michelle Cooley and her husband Devin of Pomona, Kansas; a son, Micah Eubank of Hartford, Kansas; grandchildren, Kenna Cooley and Keegan Cooley; a brother, Mark Haas of Kansas City, Mo., a cousin Shirley Heath; a sister-in-law, Jeanne Haas; her three beloved dogs, Nut, Tank and Lady; numerous extended family and a community of friends. She was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Haas.

Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, April 14, 2025 at the United Methodist Church in Hartford. Burial will follow services at Hartford Cemetery.
