Frank James Austin

Frank J. Austin, 74, of Elgin, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at his son’s home in Osage City.

Frank James Austin was born October 29, 1945 in Greensville, North Carolina, the son of George L. and Ada A. (Arnold) Austin.

He proudly retired from U.S. Army after approximately 21 years of service. After military career, he was a truck driver for many years.

Frank is survived by his wife, Giavonna “Joan” Austin of Elgin, Oklahoma; two daughters, Sandra (David) Shreve of Oregon, Stella Stanton of Lawton, Oklahoma; four sons, Frank Austin, Jr. of Pahrump, Nevada, Richard (Gail) Stanton of Fletcher, OK, Mark (Sarah) Stanton of Choctaw, Oklahoma and Patrick (Carlene) Austin of Osage City, Kansas; a sister, Sandra J. Urmanski of Ogden; a brother, George B. Austin of Vancouver, Washington; eight grandchildren and four great-granchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Pamela Schmouss.

Funeral Service will be held at 10: 00 a.m., Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home in Lebo. Family receive friends an hour before service. Military Honors and Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., November 13, 2019 at Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, KS.
