Floyd Eugene Crane

Floyd Eugene Crane, 75, of Virgil, Kansas, passed away in Wichita, Kansas on January 15, 2022.
Floyd was born in Westphalia, Kansas, to Ernest (Bill) Crane and Blanche VanArsdale Crane, on July 25, 1946.
He married Leota Mae Megli on November 1, 1965, in El Dorado, Kansas. They were married for 56 years.
Floyd served in the United States Army, First Calvary, from November 8, 1965 until November 8, 1968 when he was released with an honorable discharge. During Floyd’s time in the Army he spent a year in Vietnam where he was a helicopter mechanic.
Floyd enjoyed playing with his dogs and cats and “Baby”, the deer that he raised from a fawn. He also enjoyed attending auctions and buying tractors to rebuild. He liked to sit on the pond dam and river bank fishing. Floyd’s favorite past time was spending time with his family. On his 75th birthday, he was involved in a water balloon fight with anyone who wanted to be involved, and even some who didn’t.
Floyd is survived by his wife, Leota Crane, of the home, four children, Belinda Martin and husband Brad, Larry Crane and wife Kerry, Jerry Crane and wife Vicki and Lucinda (Cindy) Stuber and husband Kevin, eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren with an eighth on the way , three brothers, Ronnie and wife Margene, Leonard and wife Linda and Lyle Crane and fiancé, Diana and three sisters, Edna Benson, Joann McKenzie and husband Charlie and Dorinda Snyder and husband, John.
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest (Bill) Crane and Blanche Crane, a sister, Birdie Maxson, a sister-in-law, Neva Crane and a brother-in-law, John Benson. A visitation will be held on January 27, 2022 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the VanArsdale Funeral Home in Madison, Kansas.

A graveside service will be held for Floyd at the Virgil Cemetery, Virgil, Kansas on January 28, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. (If inclement weather, the service will be held at the VanArsdale Funeral Home in Madison, Kansas. )
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital and sent in care of VanArsdale Funeral Home, 202 W. Main St., Madison, Kansas 66860.
