Evelyn Marie Williams

July 30, 1934 — August 27, 2021

Evelyn Marie Williams, 87, of Osage City, Kansas, passed away on August 27, 2021.

Evelyn was born in Burlingame, Kansas on July 30, 1934 to parents, Jesse and Eva (Saffle) Mundy. She spent her childhood there, and attended Burlingame Highschool, until her senior year, when she attended and graduated from Topeka Highschool. In December of 1950, she was united in marriage to Floyd “Bud” Williams. To this union they had four children, Dan, Teresa, Mike, and Dave. The family lived in Scranton, KS for around 30 years, until eventually relocating to Osage City.

Over her life, Evelyn worked in various places including grocery stores, bartending, and 16 years at Hallmark. She retired from Frito Lay after 30 years, where she started in packing, working all the way up to Quality Control Supervisor. In her free time she enjoyed gardening, spending a lot of time outside caring for her flowers. Evelyn was a 38 year member of Eagles Auxillary 3890, Osage City. She was an avid KU fan, sometimes making friendly wagers with family members who supported K-State on who would win when they played head-to-head. She adored her great-granddaughter, Ashlyn Asbury, whom she says was the apple of her eye, and Evelyn hopes that she misses her.

Preceding her in death is her husband, Bud Williams; sons, Mike Williams and Dave Williams; two grandchildren, Justin Wayne Asbury and Brian James Asbury; brothers, Raymond Dale Mundy and Bud Mundy; and three sisters, Mary Beth, Joyce Ann, and Lillian Rae.

Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Teresa Knight of Osage City; son, Dan Williams (Carol) of Elkhart, Indiana; sisters, Judy Billings and Kathy Mizer; 3 grandkids, Garth Asbury of Osage City, Jason Williams, and Kevin Williams; 3 great-grandkids, James Williams, Ashlyn Asbury, and Anthony Asbury; and several great-great grandchildren.

A celebration of life for Evelyn will be held at a later date. Condolences to the family and memorials may be sent c/o VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, 107 N. 6th Street, Osage City, KS 66523.
