Eunice Vanita "Mickey" Brooks

Eunice Vanita “Mickey” Brooks, age 65 of St. Paul, MN passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2018 , after a long illness. Eunice was born February 6, 1953 in Emporia, Kansas the daughter of Samuel “Bud” and Dorothy Dorsey Brooks. Mickey was a member of St. James Missionary Baptist Church.  After graduating from Emporia High, she moved to St. Paul, MN where she met her life partner, Stanley Clark. She was a homemaker and enjoyed art, crosswords, puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Bud Jr. and a sister, Doreitha Brooks. Mickey will live on in the hearts of her daughter, Sherell; two granddaughters, Maliyah and Kyliyah of St. Paul; six sisters, Darlene Casteneda and her husband Joe of Lincoln, Nebraska, JoAnn Morris and her husband Chester of Emporia, Barbara Finch and her husband Willie of Emporia, Martha Brooks, Dorothy Brooks and Fannie Brooks, all of Emporia; four brothers, Patrick Brooks and his wife Peggy of Nashville, Roger Brooks and his wife Yvonne of Emporia, Ernest Brooks of Emporia and Steven Brooks of Emporia and a host of nieces and nephews.  Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, November 2, 2018 at the St. James Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow services at Maplewood Memorial Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church. Condolences may be expressed at vanarsdalefs.com.
