Elenor Hentzler, 95, passed away November 11, 2018. She was born October 21, 1923, at Watson, Kansas daughter of Nellie Milliken and William A. Herschell. She graduated from Highland Park High School in Topeka. She married Herbert “Bud” Hentzler on March 12, 1947 in Topeka. They moved to Eskridge, Kansas in 1952, where they raised cattle and farmed. Herbert preceded her in death August 2010. Elenor moved Topeka in 2010 and Plano, Texas December 2017. She was a member of the Eskridge Presbyterian Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher. For many years she was involved with the Friendly Farmers 4-H Club, as a cooking and sewing leader. She served on the Wabaunsee County Fair Board, was active in the Wabaunsee County Extension Homemaker Unit and Republican Party. Survivors include two daughters, Jane Hentzler, Lee’s Summit, Missouri and Carol Gockel and her husband Doug, Plano, Texas; Sister-in-Law Helen Herschell, San Antonio, and Jeanne Hentzler, Topeka; one granddaughter, Meghan Gockel, Dallas and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be 10:30 A.M., Thursday, November 15, 2018 at the Zion Cemetery east of Topeka near Watson, Kansas. In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions may be made to the Friendly Farmers 4-H Club at Eskridge and mailed to VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 338, Eskridge, KS 66423.
