Eleanor Louise "Hutchinson" Powell, 78 of Emporia passed away Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka. Eleanor was born February 9, 1936 in rural Burlington, the daughter of Samuel A. and Marian H. Baxter Hutchinson. "Sis" as she was known attended Swamp College Grade School near Old Strawn and later graduated from Strawn High School with the Class of 1954. She went to work at Hallmark Cards in Emporia and later worked at Crawford Manufacturing in Emporia. She was joined in marriage to Lowell "Jack" Powell on February 28, 1967 in Miami, Oklahoma. She was a proud homemaker and worked with her husband and children in the family business, roofing houses and building fence. Eleanor was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxillary in Osage City. She will forever be remembered by her two daughters, Debra Redding of Waverly and Brenda Seaton of Auburn; a son, Douglas Seaton of Auburn; five sisters, Pat Dalby of Burlington, Kathleen Hutchinson of Lebo, Sharyl Bolyard of Osage City, Melva Selby of Emporia and Joyce Nihiser of rural Osage City; six brothers, Sam Hutchinson of Topeka, Jack Hutchinson of Rantoul, Marvin Hutchinson of Wellsville, Leon Hutchinson of Norman, Oklahoma, Clifford Hutchinson of Emporia and Orville Hutchinson of Lebo; five grandchildren, Jamie Dreiling, RaeAnna Seaton, Jackson Seaton, Heath Redding and Levi Seaton; five great-grandchildren, Mara Dreiling, Haddie Mae Seaton, Jax Dreiling, Seth Redding and Hiatt Seaton and numerous nieces and nephews. Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband Jack on September 7, 2009. She was also preceded by her parents and a brother Donald Hutchinson
