Donald Martin Horton

Donald M. Horton, 87, formerly of Emporia, passed away Sunday, July 11, 2021 at HCA Houston Healthcare- Clear Lake in Webster, Texas.

Donald Martin Horton was born January 10, 1934 in Ottawa, Kansas, the son of Elmer Martin and Marie Beatrice (Carter) Horton.

He served in the United States Navy.

Don was joined in marriage to Sylvia Susan Percell on March 31, 1952 in Long Beach, California. He and his family lived in the Wichita area from 1956 unitl moving to Victoria, Texas in 1972. He later lived in Emporia before moving to La Porte, Texas with his son.

Don will be forever remembered by his three daughters, Becky Carver, Joyce (Keith) Wise, both of Wichita and Mary Caraway of Walton, Kansas; two sons, Jerry (Stacey) Horton of La Porte, Texas and Donald Gering of Wichita; a brother, Larry (Sue) Horton of Missouri; thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sylvia; two sisters, Irene Horton and Norma Beaver and two brother, Bob Horton and Jack Horton.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 23, 2021 at Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home in Lebo, Kansas.
