Deborah Ann Tidd, 69, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2024 at Stormont Vail Hospital, in Topeka, KS. She was born on March 4, 1955 in Council Grove, KS to Mary and Mirl Qualls (both deceased). She was proud to live in Osage City and was a 1973 graduate of Osage City High School.
She married David Tidd on February 13, 1988, and together they served as foster parents to many children. Debbie worked for the Osage County School System as a paraprofessional with a focus on special needs children
In 2000, Debbie and David moved to Lyndon, KS where Debbie worked as a paraprofessional in the Lyndon school system. In Lyndon, they met Jennifer Dangerfield, whose father had passed away. Together they formed a family and improved each other’s lives.
Going home was always important to Debbie and in 2015, they returned to Osage, where Debbie worked for COF Training Services, a home for adults with intellectual disabilities.
Debbie’s commitment to helping people grow and flourish and her caring spirit were her hallmark. She made a real and lasting difference in the lives of many people. She will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her husband, David, and their daughter, Jennifer (Job) Smith of Lyndon, KS; an older sister, Pam (Tom) Morrissey of Raleigh, NC; and her younger brothers, Rick (Carol) Qualls of Macksville, KS and David (Rebecca) Reid of Overland Park, KS. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Mary C. Reid and Mirl Qualls; and her brother Jerry Qualls.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial service to reminisce and honor her life. Please join us at the Countryside Baptist Church, 24608 W Highway K170 in Osage City, at 4 p.m. on October 5, 2024.
