DAVID EUGENE EVANS LEBO- David E. Evans, 85, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Sunset Manor in Waverly, Kansas. David Eugene Evans was born March 24, 1930 in Emporia, Kansas, the son of Gwilym R. and Jennie L. (Odor) Evans. He graduated from Lebo High School in 1948 and earned a Bachelor's Degree from Emporia State University. He served in United States Air Force during the Korean War Conflict as a Personnel Clerk at Carswell Air Force Base in Ft Worth, Texas. He married Loree Horton on October 15, 1982 in Lebo. David E. joined his father in ownership and administration of The State Bank of Lebo in 1955 and through the years became the President of the bank, serving the community for more than 54 years. He served as Mayor of Lebo for 18 years and had helped to get Senior Citizen Housing in Lebo. He was a member of the United Methodist Church where he served as Treasurer for many years. He also held life-time memberships in the American Legion and V.F.W.. He was named an honorary member of the Lebo High School National Honor Society for his scholarship support and employment of Lebo High Students. David E. will be remembered by his wife, Loree of the home; a daughter, Debra S. Evans of Emporia; a step-daughter, Emily (Kevin) Bobo and grandchildren Penelope and Eli of Bloomington, Indiana; two step-sons, Chad (Houda) Criqui of Morrocco and Jason (Molly) Criqui and grandson, Alex of Anchorage, Alaska. He was preceded by his parents, a sister, Martha Nee; two brothers, Thomas and George Evans. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am., Friday, October 9, 2015 at Lebo United Methodist Church in Lebo. Internment will follow at Arvonia Township Cemetary. The family will receive friends, Thursday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. at the Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home in Lebo. Memorial contributions may be made to David E.
