�� Charles Richard Knight, 92, passed away early Wednesday, June 10 2015 at his home in Lebo. ��Charlie was born June 1, 1923 in Lebo, Kansas the son Charles A. and Violet Knight. He attended Waverly High School and graduated with the Class of 1942. ��Following high school during WWII he worked at Cessna and Beach Aircraft. ��Charlie was joined in marriage to Patricia A. King on July 29, 1946 in Emporia. They spent the first three years of marriage in Colorado where Charlie began his carpentry career. The young couple moved in 1949 making their family home in Lebo. After moving home he worked with his father and grandfather building homes in the Lebo and surrounding area. He spent several years working at the Lebo Lumber Yard and later operated Knight Builders for over forty years completing his last home build with his son and grandson in 2000. ��Charlie had served on the USD #243 School Board and loved attending the athletic events of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The driving force in Charlie's life was his love for family. ��He will remain dear in the hearts of his loving wife of 68 years, Pat Knight of their home; daughters, Sandra (Regis) View of Wichita and Christie Knight (Tamra Knapp) of Mission; sons, Gale (Adele) Knight of Emporia and Greg Knight of Lebo; sister, Madgel Beagel of Burlington; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Merlin McCormick; sister, Joanne Robinson and grandson, Andrew Young. ��Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 14, 2015 at the Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home in Lebo. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home. Cremation will follow services with private inurnment at Lincoln Cemetery in Lebo.
