Chad Michael Dean, 41, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at his home in Madison, Kansas.
He was born September 4, 1975, in St. Joseph, Missouri the son of Michael Lee and Terry Ann Ward Dean.
The family moved to Madison in 1985. Chad attended Madison High School and graduated with the Class of 1994. He would further his education at Butler County Community College earning a degree in General Studies with and emphasis in Law Enforcement in 1996.
Chad put his degree to work in 1997 when he joined the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office as a Detention Officer and also served as a Reserve Officer. In February 1999 he moved on to the Lyon County Sheriffs Office as a Detention Officer. This was a career that would last until his death.
Chad was joined in marriage to Annette Marie Shultz on April 30, 2005 in the Madison United Methodist Church where he was a member.
He will live on in the hearts of his wife, Annette of their home; a daughter, Bayleigh Nichole Dean and a son, Connor Michael Dean of the home; his mother and father, Terry and Michael Dean of Madison; a sister, Gina Michelle Audiss and her husband Travis of Yates Center, Kansas; nephews and nieces, Trayton, Kodi, Garrett and Karli Audiss, Clinton, Colton and Colby Shultz, Kinzie, Emma, Lauren and Camryn Brewer; numerous cousins; extended family; co-workers and dear friends.
A Celebration of Chad’s life will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at the Lamont Wesleyan Church. Burial will follow services at Lena Valley Cemetery north of Lamont. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. at the VanArsdale Funeral Home in Madison. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Dean Children’s Education Fund and sent in care of the VanArsdale Funeral Home at P.O. Box 488, Madison, Kansas 66860.
