Bonita S. Kratzberg

Bonita S. Kratzberg, 72 of Emporia, passed away March 1, 2025 at Stormont-Vail Health in Topeka.

She was born March 21, 1952 in Emporia, Kansas the daughter of Fred and Bonnie Cole Dow.

Bonita was joined in marriage to Ron Kratzberg on December 26, 1979. They began their marriage living in Emporia. Bonita and her family never ventured far, spending the past 45 years in the Emporia Area.

Bonita was an avid nature lover. One of her true pleasures was watching the birds and squirrels congregate after feeding them. She found peace in watching the butterflies as they fluttered about, seemingly without a care in the world. Bonita was an accomplished sketch artist and saw nature as an endless muse for her artistic talents. She spent countless hours drawing nature and old farmsteads. Her other interests included fishing and when indoors crafting, which allowed her to use her creative talents to share with others.

Bonita was a person of faith. She and Ron attended the Cedar Cross Missionary Baptist Church in Emporia.

She will live on in the hearts and treasured memories of her loving husband, Ron of Emporia; daughter, Teffany Renfro of Hartford, Kansas; sons, Shawn Ray of Lewisburg, Tennessee and Wayne Renfro of Emporia; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Mike Belt of Wichita, Kansas; her beloved dog “Tootsie”; numerous extended family and a community of dear friends.
