Benjamin Dale Steen, died March 16, 2021, at his home. He was born on December 20, 1945, to Alfred H. and Esther L. “Willits” Steen.
He graduated from Osage City High School in 1963.
He was a United States Marine Corps combat wounded veteran who fought in the battle of Hue City during the 1968 Tet Offensive. He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant. After his discharge, most of his life was spent as a self-employed entrepreneur.
His survivors include his brother Neil Steen, his sister Phyllis Lawless, and nephews Patrick and Kelly Lawless.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Rena Irwin, and nephews Kirk Irwin and Clancey Lawless.
Due to COVID-19, private family services will be held. Memorials can be made to Topeka VA Medical Center GPF 9163 for the Colmery-O'Neil VA Medical Center, Voluntary Service Program Office and sent in care of VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, 107 N. 6th, Osage City, Kansas 66523.
